How to Use the Preferences Section in Shadow GPS
Let’s face it—tracking should be as convenient and comfortable as possible. That’s why we built the Preferences section. It gives you control over how your app looks, how data is displayed, and even how your locations are managed. Here’s a breakdown of what you can set and how to do it.
1. Appearance Settings
Choose a theme that suits your style—or your lighting conditions.
Available options:
Light Mode – For a bright, clean look
Dark Mode – Easier on the eyes, especially at night
System Default – Follows your phone’s current theme
How to change it:
Navigate to Profile → Preferences → Appearance and select your preferred mode. The change applies instantly.
2. Units of Measurement
You decide how distances and speeds are shown throughout the app.
Options:
Imperial – Miles, feet, mph
Metric – Kilometers, meters, km/h
To update your unit preference:
Go to Preferences → Units, and select the measurement system you’re most comfortable with. Everything from trip summaries to speed alerts will reflect this choice.
3. Time Zone Settings
Working across time zones or just want data in your local time? You can set that.
Steps:
Head to Preferences → Time Zone, pick your preferred time zone, and all timestamps and trip records will adjust accordingly.
4. Saved Places
Save frequently visited places like Home, Office, or the local garage. It makes geofence setup and trip reviews faster and easier.
To add a place:
Save frequently visited locations for quick access. Here's how:
From the Trip Timeline or Home Screen, locate the address you want to save.
Tap the pencil icon next to the address.
Enter a name for the place (e.g., "Home," "Office").
Your place is now saved and accessible for future use.
Final Note
Preferences might seem small, but they go a long way in making Shadow GPS feel like it was built just for you. Set it up once, and enjoy a smoother, smarter tracking experience everyday.
