Geofence Alerts: Drawing Invisible Fences That Actually Work
Sometimes, keeping track of your vehicle means more than just knowing where it is—it's about knowing when it shouldn’t be somewhere. That’s where Geofence Alerts in ShadowGPS step in.
Think of a geofence as a digital boundary you draw on the map. Whether it’s your home, office, kid’s school, or a place your vehicle definitely shouldn't visit, you'll be notified the moment your ShadowAuto or ShadowTrack crosses that virtual line.
Here’s How You Set It Up:
Head to the Geofence Section
From the ShadowGPS app, open the geofence tab. You’ll see a list of geofences you’ve already created (if any), each with a handy toggle to enable/disable them.Tap the “+” Icon to Add a New Geofence
This opens the geofence creation screen. Time to name your zone! Something simple like "Home" or "Office" works great (but hey, get creative if you want).Select a Location
Tap the location input to open the map. You can:Search for an address,
Jump to your current location, or
Zoom to your device’s location.
A blue circle will appear on the map showing the geofence area—this is your "invisible fence."
Customize the Schedule
By default, your geofence is active all day, every day. But if you want more control, customize:Days of the week
Start and end times
Time zone
Choose Alert Type
Do you want to be notified when your vehicle:Enters the zone?
Exits the zone?
Both?
The choice is yours.
Save and Done
Once saved, your geofence shows up in the list with a toggle to turn it on/off anytime. Want to tweak it? Just tap to edit or delete.
And yes, you’ll also see your geofence zones marked right on your Home screen and Trip Timeline, because why not make it even easier?
Why Geofence Alerts Rock:
Get peace of mind when your car leaves where it should stay.
Know when it arrives at school, work, or back home.
Set it and forget it—the app will let you know when something’s up.
It’s like setting invisible boundaries for your vehicle. Only smarter. And way more polite about it.
