With the Towing Alert, available exclusively for ShadowAuto (OBD) devices, you’ll get an immediate notification when towing is detected. All you have to do is flip the toggle ON in the alert configuration settings—no fancy setup, no guesswork.
How It Works:
Go to the Alert Configuration section.
Select a device connected via OBD (ShadowAuto).
Toggle Towing Alert ON.
That’s it—now if your vehicle enters a towing state, ShadowGPS will send you an alert instantly.
When Is This Useful?
If your car’s parked in a towing-prone zone.
When you’re leaving your car for extended periods (travel, storage, etc.).
For business fleets—know when a vehicle is moved without ignition.
Pro Tip:
The system uses motion patterns, ignition state, and movement behavior to detect potential towing. So even if the ignition is off, if your vehicle starts moving abnormally—we’ll let you know.
