DTC Error Alerts: Because “Check Engine” Shouldn’t Be a Mystery

You know that feeling when your dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree? Yeah—us too. With ShadowGPS, you don’t have to guess what’s going on under the hood.

The DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) Error Alert is available for ShadowAuto (OBD) devices and lets you know the moment your vehicle throws an error. Just toggle it ON, and if something's wrong, we’ll send you an alert—straight to your phone.

How It Works:

  1. Go to the Alert Configuration screen in the app.

  2. Select your ShadowAuto device.

  3. Turn ON the DTC Error Alert.

  4. Once activated, your device will monitor for error codes and send you an alert when one pops up.

Where You’ll See It:

  • A notification is sent when a DTC is detected.

  • You can view the error code directly from your Home screen—no need to plug in or visit the mechanic just to find out what’s up.

Why Enable It?

  • Stay informed before that check engine light turns into a big bill.

  • Understand the problem early and take action sooner.

  • Especially handy if you're managing a fleet—troubleshoot remotely.

ShadowGPS translates your car’s mechanical mutterings into something you can actually act on. So go ahead—flip the toggle ON, and let us handle the diagnostics while you stay in the driver’s seat.
